Over thirty mothers spent their Eid-El-Fitr break gathered at Biyou Health and Spa in Ikeja, Lagos for the SWEAT IT OUT Season One.
The event was organised by founder of Fabulous Naija Mums , Mrs. Jayne Augoye and Mrs. Chinwe Obinwanne, founder of NAIJAFITMOMS .
This event addressed everything mothers need to know to take care of themselves, keep fit, eat healthy, run the home and raise healthy kids in a town where there is a constant rush and very little time.
Taking the event to a spa was one way to show mums that they have to get pampered every once in a while. Massages, facial treatments, fitness, body scrubs, healthy eating; are all ways for any mum to get rejuvenated in order to be stronger to manage her many roles.
Obinwanne after taking mothers through circuit trainings focused on cardio, strength and core conditioning, encouraged mothers to not only make little time every day to exercise, but also to quit the quest for weight loss and rather pursue health and wellness which will ultimately result in weight loss. She spoke extensively on the need for mums to stop comparing their progress to that of any other mum, as everyone is different and unique in their own right.
It was an atmosphere of fun and absolute honesty as mums bared it all with regards to their struggles in being consistent with exercising and the bigger struggle of eating healthy meals.
Certified nutrition expert Olubukola Kolade was on ground to take mums through the process of healthy eating while proffering tips and tricks to enable them eat a healthy diet without relaxing into the arms of fad diets that don’t work.
Augoye also talked to mums about the need for self-love, stressing that one cannot pour out of an empty cup. She suggested ways for mums to care for and love themselves.
The SWEAT IT OUT event played a major role in encouraging women entrepreneurs by ensuring that every service was rendered by women and every vendor, a woman.
The headline sponsor Joyce Busari of Biyou Health and Spa who operates a female-only spa in a serene and beautiful environment encouraged mums to take care of their bodies and skin.
Other event sponsors and vendors are women entrepreneurs engaged in various businesses.
Mothers in attendance got a lot of free items such as body wash, digital skipping ropes, gym wears, healthy food items among others from the event sponsors to encourage their health and wellness lifestyle.
They also shopped from an array of products offered by sponsors ranging from lingerie, gym wears, kiddies, healthy confectionaries, essential oils, workout belts and workout water bottles.
The Sweat It Out event ended with great anticipation for Season Two of Sweat It Out by mums in attendance, as they were all excited to begin living a healthy and fit lifestyle.
