Know your children’s teachers and what they look out for in a homework or assignment
As a parent and guardian this is only possible if you attend school events, such as parent-teacher conferences regularly. When you do, you will get first hand information from your children’s teachers, about his or her progress in school. When you meet with your child’s teachers remember to ask them about their homework policies and how you should be involved.
Set up a homework-friendly area in your home
Homework time should be fun and not a chore. That beings said, ensure kids have a well-lit and fun atmosphere to complete homework. Keep stationary supplies paper, pencils, glue, and scissors within reach.
Schedule a regular study time
Some kids work best in the afternoon, following a snack and play period while others may prefer to wait until after dinner. Find out which works best for your child and make the best of it.
