Suya has been saving lives since 1800. The only thing we do not like about suya is the fact that it is only sold at night. So we have gone all out to make our own suya! Unlike the regular suya, this one does not require yaji (suya spice). Yes, for real.
Ingredients
- 1 kg beef
- 7 pcs rodo
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 pcs onions (small)
- 3 pinches thyme
- 1 teaspoon curry powder
- 2 pcs seasoning cubes
- 1 bulb garlic
- 1 bunch spring onions
- 4 pcs skewer sticks
- 2 scoop suya spice
- 1 ziploc bag
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Method
- Wash the beef arrange on skewer sticks. Set aside
- Blend the peppers, onion and garlic together. Do not blend until smooth
- Add all the seasonings to the pepper mix, place the beef in the pepper mix, put in a ziploc bag and marinate for about 4 hours
- Heat grill to about 350 degrees and brush with some vegetable oil.
- Place marinated beef on grill and grill until both sides are golden brown. Oil at intervals
- Garnish with suya spice (optional)
