Here are 5 ways you can style and care for your toddler’s hair
Make it fun
Toddlers tend to never love washing their hair, do your best to make it possible for them to enjoy it. Sing them a song, tell them a story or promise to get them candy. Distraction is key, so take their mind off their hair.
Comb hair when wet
Remember that it is important to comb your toddler’s hair when wet because combing your toddler’s hair when it is dry can be discomforting. Comb it with a wide-tooth comb and get the little knots out before they become big knots. Never use a brush on a wet hair rather, use a comb.
Get the right haircut
Your toddler’s haircut goes a long way in making it easy for you to care for. If your child has curly hair, you may want her hair all one length with no bangs but if she has a very thick or wavy hair, a layered haircut can help cut back tangles. You can talk to a hairdresser for hair cut options that are best suitable for your kids.
Protect your child’s eyes
You don’t want get hair all up in her eyes, rather use a screen on her forehead while she leans back towards you. Toddlers tend to blink slowly compared to adults as their eyes are still developing. So it’s easy for an unwanted substance to get into their eyes and cause irritation.
Protect against fizz and static cling
Just in case your toddler has curly hair there’s a good chance that it may become wild or unruly when it rains. However, if she has straight hair, it can stick upwards or outwards in cold or dry weather. So it’s important you put some gel in your toddler’s hair in order to avoid these occurrences.
